It's That Kind of Blue

Updated: Dec 7, 2021

I walked many times, in many places in my lifetime.

We’re happy when there’s not a cloud in the sky.

I inhaled the freshest air in the Austrian Tirol.

The blue sky reflected the water in Venice.

I had to stop walking to admire the Melbourne sky.

I’ve never seen this kind of blue,

The coolest sky with a hint of purple.

We get unbearable sadness when our loved one breaks our heart.

I deliberately overtired myself so that you just crash during bedtime.

And when that doesn’t work, I stared on the bed till I was ready to crash.

When I finally let go,

It hit me, surprisingly.

When you’re not attached to anyone or anything,

You feel the overwhelming love and acceptance for everyone and every living thing.

It’s that kind of blue that we need to transform us.

Images: Crossing Highline 179 in Reutte, Austrian border. I was so scared of heights. Hayden (challenger of my fears and biases) pushed me to do it anyway.

I decided to do something that’s totally out of my comfort zone.

Big horsey smile when I meet new people.

One time, one smile went with a quiet –

‘You’ve got to be fuc*ing kidding me?’

When I was 10, for about a year,

I prayed to the Gods about my dream man.

The details are very specific.

By the time I was 15,

I knew that prayer will never be answered.

‘No one will ever look like that’.

And there he was.

Standing a few metres away from me.

His eyes are that kind of blue.

Every other detail matched.

How can a prayer be answered 40 years later?

Romance or no romance,

I shall apply the ‘The Physics of the Quest’ (1).

Everything that happens to us is a clue and

Everyone we meet along the way is our teacher.

Overtired from twilight market the night before,

I drove and watched the sunrise on the way to Mulgrave Market.

I quietly prayed ‘Why am I doing Hayden’s House again?’

Horsey smile dissipated toward the end of the day.

Doubt. Scared. Though not afraid.

Then a lovely young lady came and bought the Costa Rican Hotcakes and Chia Pudding.

She was open about how she became vegan after being diagnosed with blood cancer.

She is now doing holistic medicine.

She was quite happy to find vegan option at the market that is not laden with chemicals.

She thanked me for starting this business

And specifically told me to keep going.

How can a prayer be answered only six hours later?

Trust. Brave. Bold.

It’s that kind of blue.

Knowing that we need the muses,

To guide us what to do.

To tell me where to go.
